Metal Quote privacy policy
Your quotes stay on your phone.
Effective: 12 October 2026
This policy covers the Metal Quote Android app. The short version: your data is yours. Metal Quote does not collect, store or share any of it. Your quotes, prices, customers, workshop details and logo stay on your phone. The app has no internet access, no accounts, no ads and no analytics.
Who we are
Metal Quote is made by Impossible Labs, Amsterdam, the Netherlands (KVK 95962921). In this policy, "we" means Impossible Labs.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you type into Metal Quote is stored in the app's own private storage on your phone:
- your quotes, with the names and details of your customers and projects that you type into them;
- your prices, costs, profit and tax settings;
- your workshop details for the quote: name, address, phone, email and tax or VAT number, if you fill them in;
- your logo, if you add one (Full version), as a small copy of the picture you chose;
- your settings and recent calculations.
Other apps cannot read it, and it never leaves your phone unless you send it yourself, as described below. If you put your customers' details in a quote, they are kept the same way, on your phone only. Settings → Your data shows what the app keeps and how much space it uses.
Because we keep no copy, we cannot recover your data if your phone is lost or the app is deleted. The Android backup described below is there for that.
What we collect
Nothing. The app does not have internet access, so it cannot send anything to us or to anyone else. We run no servers for it and cannot see your quotes, prices or customers.
We use no advertising, analytics, crash reporting or tracking services, and we do not sell or share personal data.
Permissions
Metal Quote asks for no special permissions: no camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage or internet access. To add a logo, Android's photo picker gives the app only the one picture you choose. Google Play lists two permissions that only talk to the Google Play app on your phone: one for in-app purchases, which lets the app ask whether you own the Full version, and one added by Google Play's app protection, which lets the app check that it was installed from Google Play.
Android backup
In Settings, "Back up my quotes with my Android backup" is ticked unless you untick it. While it is ticked, your Metal Quote data is included in your phone's own backup to your Google account, and when you move to a new phone. This only happens if backup is turned on in your phone's settings. The backup is made, stored and restored by Android and Google under Google's privacy policy; we never receive it. Untick the box and the app removes its data from your next backup.
Sharing, PDFs and files
When you send a quote, a PDF, a cut list or a backup file, Android's share sheet hands it to the app you choose, such as WhatsApp, Gmail or your files, and that app's own privacy policy applies. Metal Quote keeps a temporary copy of the file in its own storage, which Android may clear at any time.
Feedback and email
If you tap "Send feedback", your own email app opens with a message to us. Besides what you write, it contains the app version, whether you use the Free or Full version and, from the feedback form, how many quotes you have viewed. You see the whole message before you send it. The same applies when you email us to join a test or ask for support.
We use your message and email address only to answer you and to improve the app, and we delete them when they are no longer needed for that.
Purchases
Metal Quote is free to download and use. The Full version is a one-time in-app purchase through Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Google; we never see your payment details, and the app only asks Google Play whether your account owns the Full version. Google's own privacy policy applies to your purchase: policies.google.com/privacy.
Children
Metal Quote is a business tool. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you from the app, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You can remove everything yourself: use "Delete all my data" in the app's Settings, or uninstall the app. To remove the copy in your Android backup, untick the backup box or delete the backup in your Google account. Your rights under the GDPR still apply, and you can contact us or the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) with any question.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. If the app ever starts handling your data differently, we will say so here before that version is released.
